Because the cost is in the battery pack, and all the “bells and whistles” expected in a car that costs $50,000, when removed, don’t save enough money to list the car for much less.

with a 100kwh battery they could say it’s a 0.36 jiggawatt-second battery. lol.

You’re... wrong? How are you defining welfare? California is like 12-13% of the country’s population but only 10% of its food stamps recipients (SNAP). 30% of California residents receive Medicaid, but so does 30% of the rest of the country, despite the fact that southern states did not expand Medicaid. Good thing we do know that US-made keyboards sell for $100 or more, and there are people who seek those out to buy. If you’re willing to pay it, buy a Unicomp.

Mouth breather here.

They likely miseducate the public on what “credit score” means. It doesn’t mean how financially savvy you are, it means how reliably profitable you are to the lender.

And drop it in a slocket at 100FSB? lol

I’m going to have to respectfully disagree with the multi-zone AC. Theoretically if the car AC is radiant heat/cool the whole car will be the same temperature, but with forced-air vents applied directly to the face/feet the temperature when it hits you matters.

Auto start-stop is fine in a hybrid, where there’s no starter and it’s basically the electric motor push-starting the engine when it’s necessary. Bonus points if the electric AC stays on when the engine is stopped.

Chicken tax says the Cybertruck is probably going to stay at Austin.

Counterpoint: the only annoying customer when you work on your project cars is yourself.

There is, of course, the Ford Everest that isn’t getting anywhere near it.

How about a refundable tax credit advanced at the point of sale? Because if it’s non-refundable, there’s no point for middle-income customers. For those right now, the kludge was leasing, but if income is capped, then does that mean the leasing company can’t take the tax credit? That would be bad.

About that dealership service bit.... At some point very close to this car’s age, some of its parts become unobtanium as NOS.

Funny thing is, it’s difficult to talk about the other kind of compromises: what are you willing to give up to drive a fun car?

Don’t listen to them, it’s not hard to find one in good condition at all!

And just like in those days, people are asking for fake medical exemptions.

There is plenty of shilling in the UK already.

Can it baby, and hold in-laws + the modern giant stroller + cooler for milk + diaper bag?

I wonder how well it would work in Boston if schools just stopped running bus routes and subsidized city bus passes for needy children instead. Only special needs children continue on yellow buses. That is what my district did after it went bankrupt, and it seemed to be okay?
