Such a shame...  I really enjoyed the site.  That was definitely the place to go look for new episodes (and old ones, too).

I don’t know about for an SUV, but even for turbo sports cars / sedans it’s still pretty common.  High revving engines that make power up high in the rpm band seem to really give that sporty feel.
