well you aren’t wrong
not a compromise, but to comprimise. a specific of a verb sense i guess, not as a noun; e.g.:
“this was delicious!”
“i made it with bacon fat”
“i am now conflicted because i do not eat beef or pork and have no medical or religious reasoning for doing so. perhaps i should alter my stance.”
please don’t make me think on a…
Little pâte brisée fig tarts are my only reason for living. ;)
it’s packed with umami goodness, and can be used just like soy sauce
Scrolled quickly through the front page and thought this was the header image for the “Tennessee fire melting cars” post.
Do people still want to own RVs?
All TB2 bags have a lifetime warranty on them. Shoot them an email. I got my bag fixed and back to me in about 10 days. Hell, they’ve sent me replacement buckles for my first gen Command.. now 4 years old and no longer produced!

According to Cook’s Illustrated, that light is a liar
This is exactly the amount of effort that led to me drinking wine out of a coffee mug.
How do you dry the crazy straw?
Fast pour from the middle out from a smaller bain marie and smooth the batter out with a grill spatula to a 15" diameter, which we all knew because that was our large pizza size. Think skim coating with joint compound. Use a short handle steel pizza peel to flip.
They weren’t ever as good as the silver dollars we…
She’s off for 2 weeks in December. I was thinking of getting one of these and putting it inside of her chair, but I need a way to randomize the sounds and only have them play at certain intervals (like the original ThinkGeek Annoy-A-Tron did). That way, if she suspects it and sits down multiple times it won’t play…
This is the same woman that asks me how to buy weed, if I can buy her weed, how to get a medical card and then spent 2 hours talking about voting against legalization earlier this month (we’re in MA).
I make sure that if I call in sick, it’s only on days I know she’s there. That way I won’t have to deal with as much…
I am so unbelievably hopped up on cold medicine right now, I can remember all sorts of fun.
My mac and cheese was ridiculously critiqued by one of those people last year at a pot luck. You know, those people who learned how to cook last week by watching videos on Buzzfeed? And has one of those colorful ceramic knife sets, and only cuts on glass or marble cutting “boards”. She proceeded to tell me that I…
Rancheros. Let’s do this.
I use my Thermoworks ChefAlarm and walk away. Gives me beeps when I’m under/over/at temperature, and the eggs go in for 4 minutes.. which I can set on the timer as well. PUHLEASE. I’m an American trained cook, you think I’m going to hover over eggs? Plus they sent me a little bag of jelly beans with it, which were…
Sprayer attachment, cold water and some soap and it’ll come right off. Def. worth it!
It really isn’t much more labor than a traditional poaching method. You’re just adding a strainer between the cup and the egg.
Pope Kenji to the rescue!
Seriously I am the worst at making eggs (and rice), but I have had a 100% success poaching eggs this way, which led to the single best Benedict I’ve ever had. I only did them one at a time and temp checked the water constantly but OH MAN I couldn’t believe how well it worked.
I still want my various bread pudding types!
Yes, and it’s very obvious to me in my newer issues of Cook’s Country. Milk Street, his new venture is AMAZING. My first issue came a few weeks ago and I saw his show in Maine.. but the style is more like Cook’s Illustrated than CC or ATK, really not the weeknight/homestyle cooking I’m interested in.
I’m subbed to…
