So he’s a real life Howard Lyman!
So he’s a real life Howard Lyman!
I once had a similar conversation with a Christian, and was totally shocked when they said they believed the Earth was created 6000 years ago. I simply could not believe it! I didn’t know what to say at first.
So the kid is actually being grown in that pod for the couple, and to keep him emotionally stable (ala Bladerunner’s Replicant memories) he has a virtual reality childhood, and eventually he realizes he’s in a dream and goes a bit crazy, causing angst for his parents in the real world. Probably ends ambiguously.
Agreed. But “You’re Welcome” is also fantastic in close second place.
I was disappointed with Rogue One and now I know why - without a clear vision and story going into the film they shot lots of scenes, hoping they could edit something together that made sense. Unfortunately this film has more holes than a block of Swiss Cheese. There’s also no real character development allowing one…
Louise Banks? Is she married to an Ian (sic) Banks? Does she class the spaceships as General Contact Units? And utter “Of Course I Still Love You”?
Looks like plain old depth of field for a couple of close up shots. The other shots do not have it. Nothing to see here, move along.
The industry has definitely moved on from this “old school” philosophy, and matured. When I tell people I thrived at a very large games company over ten years they blink in disbelief. Sure ten years ago it was hard - but we all got better at it. This guy is, well, he’s not your typically employee these days. Best I…
You sir have won the Internets today. Made me laugh out loud.
Luc Besson!? Okay, Fifth Element took me a few minutes to “get”. Oh... it’s a comic film. Like Pacific Rim. Then I enjoyed it a lot. Totally silly, totally quotable. “Lee-loo multi-pass.”
“Only time will tell!” :-D
Yes, I’m definitely not a fan of gratuitous and unnecessary violence. And yet, as a warning, one might show the consequences of mistakes using some violence; bigger mistakes may mean bigger stakes (not steaks). Personally I avoid “horror” films; primarily they are not my “cup of tea” (taste); and now more because I’m…
Lol, that cliche sound for “AWESOME is happening *right* NOW” is, well... a cliche. Unfortunately “we are not entertained” Mr Gladiator. :-D
Well it’s hard to tell from the trailer. However if Morgan Freeman is there, I’m up for seeing more to check. My first reaction is that Ben-Hur remake would appeal to a more mass market audience, so has to be more entertaining. Using the stylistic Gladiator model, it is essentially using the “one story” (or mono-myth)…
They did pee in Babylon 5 though - can’t remember the episode.
