This x1,000. There isn’t a place in System Preferences to OK a new app for Gatekeeper. You can only turn it on or off (and turning it off is a bad idea...) But if you Control click on a new app, and choose Open, it asks you if you are sure and then approves it.

All I know is that when Adobe Flash/Shockwave plug-ins weren’t crashing or slowing down my browser, they were bugging me about updating to plug yet another security hole.

I think the biggest issue that you mentioned is one that actually rings true in many cases; a shop doesn’t want to get sued or really face any sort of litigation when a customer returns to them, due to some sort of accident likely caused by negligence, that probably had nothing to do with the actual shop itself.

Absolute worst case, drill it out and install a helicoil.

How about we let people do whatever the fuck they want and the consequences of how others perceive them are theirs to own?

"We have a lot of work to do there. We have to do better."

I have far more respect for developers who delay products to provide quality than those that rush products out the door that could have really stood to bake longer. It seems the later is far more the norm these days.
