I used to get Gambit mixed up with Longshot, so I thought, wait they let Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron play a peripheral X-man character before they let Channing Tatum?

Avatar: I saw it on the big screen in 3D. It was amazing to look at. And there was not one scene, plot point or line of dialogue you couldn’t see coming a mile away. I’m not interested in a sequel because I can’t imagine Cameron’s got anything new to say. He didn’t last time.

Ben Elton wrote it (although the works of his I love are all over 30 years old at this point, so who knows?)

George Lucas got funding for THX-1138 because he had the backing of Francis Ford Coppola and the studio wanted to make Coppola happy

I don’t wish the X-Men movies ill, but it really doesn’t look like Dark Phoenix is going to be great. If it gets good reviews from people I trust, I guess I’ll see it but probably wait till it gets to my library...

a plug for X Men Dark Phoenix

in 2019 we view those cats as racist and offensive, but in 1955 they were just racist. It was a simpler time.

Yuck. When I was a kid and found out that Turkish Delight actually existed, I just knew it would be the best thing ever. It is not.

Can we get rid of the phrase ‘cutting room floor’?

Kind of interesting that they’re doing the same casting thing as the original - that is, Peggy Lee voiced “Peg”, singing “He’s a Tramp” and she also did both voices for Si and Am, the cats. And sure, offensive now, but back then it was a not-at-all-uncommon-especially-in-cartoons take on non-American animal characters.

This grade doesn’t bode well for my CS Lewis biopic, which is mostly just scenes of him shopping for furniture. A wardrobe, four big tall chairs, that kind of thing.

It would be awesome if Marvel retains the vivid colors and imaginative designs of Kirby’s work.

They have earned nothing but good will from me for years and years

Oh, I think this MJ has been great. I might not have thought so if we’d known she was MJ at first. But I like what the hopefully-last Spider-man movies have done with all the characters. It’s refreshing in the way the Ultimate Spider-man was for me.

And Blade, please. Still played by Wesley Snipes, preferably.

Speaking of Bendis: he’s killing it on the DC comics front. I’ve been enjoying the hell out of his Superman, his Young Justice, and his Wonder Comics imprint. Like, Marvel really must have burnt him out. He’s like a new writer

Isn’t Mysterio’s whole shtick that he’s just a guy who really good at F/X stuff?

I’m guessing they were all originally snapped by Thanos. Then when Tony unsnapped them, they came back the same age.

anesthesia twice for surgery and dude... that shit works

This is too bad and I hope she finds another place to do the program. I like the informal vibe and the fact that she (and her guests) seem actually to be having a good time on the show.
