Me: Utah Jones?

That’s a good bench. They effectively have 10 guys who can all play at any time. Every sub has been an NBA starter for multiple seasons.

I mean, he apparently was the person chiefly responsible for recruiting Young, so it’s probably meant as...I don’t know what you’d call it where you grew up, but have you heard of a joke?

+1 faulty O-ring

Man, it looks like somebody should have taken better care of those “Brown Sugar” residuals.

It leads to the long-term development of characters. I mean, that’s really what they’re creating and selling, not championships. The men’s roster is probably three times as deep as the women’s roster; they can afford more titles. But if everything revolves around a belt, then the belts are the stars, not the talent.

@wojespn Sources confirm @SportsCenter set needs fewer hidden entrances.

More titles = less stature for each title = less strength for each titleholder.

I can go along with a lot of this. Overall, I think WWE should have stuck with main divisional titles — world, women’s, world tag team — and let those champions go from show to show every couple months. Then you elevate the U.S. and IC belts and you don’t have to squeeze in literally eight title matches on a five-hour

That underscores one of the problems with developmental. Did Balor or Joe or Shinsuke or Asuka need to spend more than six months in NXT? I think they can salvage Asuka pretty easily since there’s no permanence to any character, but it sure seems like they’re letting her waste away.

The roster split may have been a setback for the women’s division. As you say, there’s not much talent on each show, which can really stifle the creative. All the Sasha and Charlotte matches took a beating from the IWC, but who else were they going to wrestle? They had to go back and forth, because it’s not like

It’s like Andy Roddick never retired!

This is definitely true. Presti came through the Spurs organization, which knows how to combat instability (I’ll grant you there’s not much to compare Oklahoma City or Oklahoma to San Antonio or Texas). I still think getting out from under Oladipo’s deal while it had some value — and the way it worked out, it had

Well, it’s a move that can set them up in multiple directions 12 months from now. If Westbrook doesn’t resign and they lose George, they start over with a ton of money and really only Steven Adams under any kind of deal. He’s got a lot of trade value, probably the most on the team outside Westbrook. (Kanter expires

I’m from there. I know the value of getting out. It can’t be overestimated.

No risk to OKC. A one-year deal for Paul George and they shed Oladipo’s terrible contract. Worst-case for them is they have a free max contract next summer.

...in which case they’ll have about $55 million in free money.

The other great thing about this if you’re Sam Presti is that you unload Oladipo at $21 million a year. Even if George bolts next summer, you replaced Oladipo with a better player this year and get $21 million in cap relief for the next three seasons.

Wow, that’s horrible.

Yeah, I’m totally focused on what’s underneath her, too!
