Nissan made a Leaf I am interested with a desirable amount of Range. Eventually I will need to get one.

A lane of road even if it is fully autonomous will never have the capacity or efficiency of an electrified heavy-rail corridor. That is why we need to remove most zoning restrictions and parking minimums and just increase density to make cities more walkable and transit friendly. https://www.strongtowns.org/the-growth…
They could have bought a M3 for that kind of money.
The best type of rail systems are ones that have buses funneling people into them. It is not really possible to serve every square inch of a metro area by rail but it is possible to build trunk lines and have buses, streetcars, autonomous pods etc. funneling people into the metro/train stops. The most basic form of…
7-10 trillion? That would be like building high-speed rail to every corner of North America. You must mean 7-10 billion. I never understood why Americans and Canadians are too lazy to walk a quarter mile from their transit stop to their destination. It is not really possible to connect everyone with direct service…
https://www.advanceatlanta.com/transportation-and-marta-updates/the-history-of-marta/ Racism and the lack of state government support really hurt Marta. As the traffic continues to get worse though we will see a continued push to expand public transit. Commuter rail is already planned and an expansion of the…
The irony is that one lane or tunnel of autonomous vehicles still cannot compete with the capacity of a conventional metro system. Why do tech bros try reinvent the wheel so they can try to suburbanize cities? Let urban areas be urban and top trying shoehorn cars into cities.
That means the ridership is good, which means more revenue to cover the operating costs of the service. It is kind of funny that anti-transit people complain people do not use public transit but then when it is built there is a huge amount of demand for the service. Sounds like they need to get more equipment and…
So what happens when a Tesla car catches fire in Elon’s sewer tunnel?
Urban areas where space is a premium need high frequency fixed-guide way transit. It is not physically possible for everyone to drive in a city like LA, NYC, Tokyo, Berlin etc. Elon’s idea would become a tube for the rich tech bros and everyone else would get screwed over because he is trying to steal resources and…
If you do not want to be around other people move to North Dakota. Space is a premium in dense urban areas. Also Elon would cram people into 20 person pods instead which would be worse since you would be in closer proximity. Off-peak metro systems, commuter rail and buses are not super crowded.
If Elon had to build tunnels the size of what was needed for the Second Avenue subway or the Silver Line in a dense urban area the costs would have been around the same. Building a sewer tunnel in a suburb of LA does not count.
And it will be built with poorly paid non-union employees and Elon will fight any attempt for people to fight for a fair wage. He also steal money from actual public transit agencies that pay their workers well.
So Elon Musk builds a toy version of a Metro system for not really any less money than actual proper metro system. His sewer tunnels can barely fit a midsize SUV in it. How does that compete with a Metro that can carry thousand people per train every 3 minutes?
They would buy a Prius if they wanted something fuel efficient and with decent tech features. Manual transmission sales are declining everywhere. The last generation Focus had a manual transmission and it did not help sales wise for it to topple the Corolla and Civic.
The 34oi is the better driving car for sure but it does come at a price premium and it makes a major difference if you are financing. The new 330i M-Sport will have a LSD this time around so I think it will probably be one of the better drivers cars in that segment. The new M340i will be a monster though. Probably…
I only like performance NA engines. Like the 991.1 Carrera S engine, V8 R8, E92 M3, Z4 M etc. Those are the ones that are fun to rev out. Your run of the mill lease spec E90 328i not so much.
Outside of the high horse power NA Inline 6's in the M cars I would take the 4 cylinder turbo engine over the regular inline 6 engines in the previous gen cars. E90 328i felt slow even when revving it up.
Did you drive a 330i with summer tires and the sport suspension. Also did you drive it in sport plus? That can make a big difference.
Elon hates public transit, working class people, and unions. Tesla gives money to the Republican Party which has actively been trying to dismantle public transit and fight any new projects.
