If the new Supra has a 340hp Inline 6 engine from a BMW it will do 0-60 in the mid to low 4's. A RWD M240i will do 0-60 in 4.4 seconds. It would completely destroy a stock 86/BRZ and the new Supra will most likely be faster than a stock WRX STI. I doubt Toyota would kill the manual on the 86 since the take-rate is

So turbocharged and supercharged cars cannot be sports cars? Most of newer turbocharged cars especially with a 6 cylinder engine like BMW N55 will rev out to redline no problem but do not suffer from the lack of midrange power the 86/BRZ lack.

That lack of mid-range power on the stock engine kills it for me. It feels like the engine is screaming but doing nothing. On the GTI I had and now on my 228i they are the most fun in that mid-range area.

You Mini Cooper has a supercharged engine with a lot more low end torque than a 86/BRZ. The power delivery on a stock 86/BRZ is underwhelming. It felt slower than my MK6 GTI which was turbo charged but had the same amount horsepower at 200.

For the time of the FRS/86 and BRZ’s production for not much more, the 1 series and now the 2 series completely out class it. You can get a 230i with staggered wheels with Michelin Pilot Supersport tires from the factory while outside of BRZ tS you are stuck with economy car tires that feel unstable. The 230i stock

You can tow with a stationwagon. The 328d has 280 pound feet of torque which is on par with what a lot of truck V6 engines have but since it is a turbodiesel that torque is instant. You never said how big the boat was. I mean if it is large than a BOF truck or SUV would make more sense.

The Volt makes a lot of sense since it is a plug-in hybrid that gets 53 miles of fully electric range. If I had one I would pretty much never have to use gas again since I do not drive very far outside of when I go on a rare longer trip. Why would I care about speed with my plug-in hybrid when I can drive around

Get a 3 series touring or A4 Allroad with a 4 cylinder engine if you are worried about fuel economy. Both come with AWD standard. The 3 series also offers a diesel engine as an option that gets impressive fuel economy.

So how does Trump think we will export vehicles that have worse fuel economy and do not meet the standards that other developed markets set? Bullying them with tariffs will just lead them to cutting the US out of the equation over time. It is not like 20 years ago when the US was the dominant consumer power in the

I feel like we almost hit the reset button and learned nothing from the recession. Truck, suv, and crossover sales are at an all time high again and people are making poor financial decisions. I thought suburban sprawl would have died during the recession but it is alive and well again in the Sunbelt. I feel like

Why don’t they upzone around transit stops and train stations near by instead of building an over glorified suburb? It just seems like they want to build a giant suburb in the middle of the country when they could redevelop land closer into cities.

A4 with the 2.0t and Quattro has the manual transmission as an option.

Yes it is a fun drivetrain combination. I do not get everyone on here hates turbo engines and AWD?

They sell the hatchback in the US as a hybrid model. They were also supposed to sell a TDI version but that got killed because of diesel gate. That is why I do not get how hard it would be for them to offer one with a 2.0t engine and AWD.

Why not offer both body styles and increase sales for the A3 even higher? Both share the same engine and transmissions and the hatchback is already federalized because of the e-tron hybrid A3 hatchback.

They are not $80k but it seems like a nice one has been creeping up in price.

Atleast the new Ford GT has some racing pedigree with that GTE-Pro class win at Le Mans in 2016. So I do not think Ford will have any problems selling these.

The MK4 Supra market is kind of a special case in America. Also in Japan they sold the Mk4 Supra through 2002 while it was discontinued in America in 1998. So that is why I am interested to see if having a large supply of vehicles leads to lower prices. I am sure the later model JDM Supra’s once they are legal here

When the Japanese market MK4 Supra’s are available to import will the prices go down?

Yeah 80k dollars can get you a lot of cars. You can get pretty much anything from a brand new M2, M3, M4 or a low mileage 996 Turbo. I am sure the Supra is fun to drive but it is still not a Porsche 911 and it is pretty heavy stock. A BMW M2 is actually lighter than a Supra even with all the modern safety
