It was that flat design thing that apple(?) started around 2010-13. by making all the 3d logos flat and simple for reasons like what you describe.

on the front I do not care as long as there are solid well rated recovery points. too many “off road” packages have no recovery points in the front and only the receiver on the back. The side and wheel arch cladding is what I do not like.

Like a patrol but smaller and cheaper plug in hybrid on 35 with lockers and NO plastic cladding and a 300 pound dynamic load roof rack. 

In my off road and overlanding groups the anti-woke people are just mad that people who are not rural white males are getting elected and making laws that do not benefit them. This is causing fear and promoting both anti-woke and election denialism. They are afraid.

not sure, probably because a snap in piece of plastic is cheaper than the body work to finish and hide the weld line between side pillar and roof?

I deeply hate the floating roof black line but the rest of it is a great looking little wagon that will be welcome here. They just need to convince the mushrooms that it is a crossover so they buy them. 

That still does not change that the slopped back of crossovers kills storage space.
