State funding of colleges and universities has dropped off wildly over the decades so if your loans/tuition were less decades ago, it was because someone else’s tax dollars helped pay a LOT of your education in public funding of colleges and universities. That money is gone and tuition is way higher compared to wages.

Cost of the extra set of wheels or the 2x a year tire change is not insignificant.

That is what I got for my wife’s car. 

I wish I had the space and price for a dedicated set of winter tires but that is not going to happen. I try to get the all season with the best winter traction and 3 mountain peak rating. Yes I KNOW I am to have a set of winter tires but the extra $1500 AND the storage space are real issues.

At least in my state everyone!! that wants to join a union can join. everyone at my place of work has a union for their position that they are free to join. employees of any workplace can start a union. why do you think unions are exclusionary, is it employers illegally stopping or just discouraging unions? It looks like a decent movie. seems of the same kind of genre of romancing the stone, the lost city with a little mr. right. 

Provide the data that counteracts the well documented data that shows wage rises. you are thinking of just industrial unskilled work. There are a great deal of white collar public sector unions now.
