When my mom moved to Florida the car insurance person she went to was stunned into helplessness with her wanting to pay for and entire year of insurance up front and told her that most people just pay enough to get a card and then stop.

I have a lot of very conservative family and a lot of progressive/liberal/democratic friends and nearly all the conservative wives feel they have to vote conservative to appease their husbands but I no not ever remember any voting/political issues with my liberal friends and family.   

Wait, What? People in Florida actually pay for their car insurance? I thought they only paid for a month to get proof to register a car.
