I think I heard something about being connected to music of our formative years. I happened to hate 80s pop when an 80s teenager and loved grunge of the 90s. What gets me are that many of my friends a and acquaintances who flatly refuse to listen to music made after they were in high school. they also worship “Top Gun”. They all peaked in high school and are sliding into old age like Al Bundy. I think I need better friends and really don’t hang with them that much anymore.
