yes, only recently have old SUVs been a collector thing so most were used hard and rusted away. survivors are now expensive. it sucks. I think the idea would be to have like $15K in cash and be willing to go thousands of miles to get one. kinda sucks. here in the upper midwest they mostly rusted away years ago.

finding them for sale is hard and paying 20k for one hurts more.

YES! first gen broncos, many versions of great jeeps, commandos to 401 v-8 manual full sized Cherokees etc., blazers and suburbans, Scouts, Rovers, land cruisers all with stone simple engines and solid front axles!!  (forget the leaky unreliability and massive rust issues)

My mom used a back yard pool as a babysitter in the 1970s. surprised we all lived. actually we also lived with my grandmother. in the 2000s my wife took a nights and weekend nights nursing shift to avoid childcare. there is a reason we only had one kid.
