this is a soccer post, not a baseball one

Looks more like an inference than an implication

And thanks to the convoluted NHL regular season point system (3-on-3 OT wins count as much as regulation wins), record is not a great indicator of the best team. Adding more variance to the format only exacerbates the problems that already exist.

That’s borderline child abuse. I’d be fucking furious if my kid was forced to see that.

Here’s what’s happening:

You literally don’t need to know how to catch or throw in order to be a professional baseball player.

What they should do is implement something like the DH in baseball for bad free throw shooters. Nobody wants to see terrible foul shots.

3- or 4-team divisional tie, all ahead of the 1st place team in the other division, with the 1-seed winning a BS tiebreaker

Disagree. They actually decreased the number of games played within the division during the regular season, and the constant playoff rematches can favor an inferior team due to the familiarity. More of a gimmick than an ideal playoff format.

They don’t do this anymore, and now the NHL playoffs are worse.

Thank you for this reasoning — the camera-angle aspect has always been my biggest gripe about the HR Derby. The viewers spend 3 months watching baseball, just so Berman and ESPN can scream in your ear, while providing no perspective of the pitch? It’s inherent nonsense, which is why I’ve avoided it for the past

They try so hard to write properly, too. It’s embarrassing.

Apologies! Misread your punctuation. I am, as always, an idiot.

Or (d) a basic working memory

Good point — nobody between the ages of 21-26 go to college.

The Sixers have Stauskas AND Embiid, moron, specifically because they didn’t draft Stauskas. Great fucking argument.
