Standard said it well, but I want to add my .02. You both have made excellent points that resonate with me on some level. But I think you miss the point of the protests even if you touch on it. You mention the root cause in passing without acknowledging it, or better empathizing with it. The cause is a reality totally…
So in my opinion, the bulk of your take here, which in return I will tell you I also appreciate, can be traced back to this initial question of yours about external stimuli.
Can you star this when you reply? I am interested in following, as I think STANDARD’s comment captured pretty well what I was formulating in my head.
reasonable, middle of the road americans agree with your sentiment. Don’t let the liberal echo-chamber that is jalopnik convince you otherwise
The people calling you gullible probably believe science has proved 73 genders exist too.
You have highlighted the biggest weakness of the left based activism - which is their total inability to have a sensible discussion when presented with a reasonable and logical point of view (such as you original post) that contrasts their own.
Instead of formulating a reasoned rebuttal, they immediately throw their…
“They are intended to suppress the right to peaceably assemble by making doing so potentially life ending...”
I’m gonna pick this reply to be the one to respond to. Look, I’ll say upfront that I don’t think you’re an outright racist. But you’re being systemically (if it helps you, this is the kind where it can be unintentional) racist and your privilege is showing, a lot.
You’re entitled to your own opinion, not your own facts.
Couldn’t have said it any better myself
Addendum, if your damages are more than a few hundred bucks, it’s also worth talking to a lawyer on the negotiation. Insurance companies think you’re an idiot if you are representing yourself (even if you know what you’re doing) and price accordingly.
This. I once got hit and the other guy’s insurance tried to settle for 1/4 of the cost. A few shouting matches later I had my car admitted into a body shop which does insurers work (and is owned by an uncle of mine). Being a company car it had decals and the shop guys even matched the missing parts... good as new.
And then there are the times when you just play Homer Simpson and fade into the bushes. Like when the insurance company gives you 25% more than the comps you dug up, plus taxes and registration fees.
Yes!
If you are going to be an idiot and show off, at least know how to do it right. This asshat didn’t even do a proper burnout and it is my guess that he lost control due to lift throttle oversteer after giving it too much gas. This driver would be better suited in a V6 model with AWD with the traction control…
You are just a kid. IIRC, the Bluesmobile was a 1974 Dodge. My middle child was born in 1974. I was born in 1946. Most of the cars produced as 1946 models in the US were just continuations of prewar models. If I had to choose a 1946 car, I would probably go with a Ford V8 convertible. Cars got a lot more interesting a…
This. That shop is run assholes.
Add me to the list of folks thanking you for really going out of your way to do right by your customers. I run into this crap all the time, especially when I bring in my DD for the annual state inspection (obviously one of the things I can’t do myself), and it drives me up the wall. Yes, I can absolutely afford to…
final response : Where is your shop? I will pay well for service that you just stated.
