The ‘95 Grand Cherokee my daughter will get to use is at 355,000 miles, and in outstanding shape with zero rust, and excellent mechanicals. We did just spend a few bones on it, replacing the interior, and all of the suspension, steering, and brakes. It was still FAR cheaper than buying something else, plus the car has

Oh, boy am I gonna get flamed.

David, I would like to tell you it is a Jeep thing, but it isn’t.

I LOVE the idea of midsize trucks. Had a kick ass ‘92 Ranger Supercab XLT back in the day, with a 4.0L and manual. FUN truck. And CHEAP.

Around here, (Wichita, KS), it doesn’t seem to matter much. Thanks to the aircraft bonus (and resultant I want it now mentality) the dealers are all too happy to deliver a right good fuckin’ any day of the year.

Kiss her where it smells....take her to New Jersey!

The local Yellow Cab here will come out and slim jim your shit for WAY less than the two companies, and typically get it done in less than 20 minutes. Won’t accept a tip either.

Kind of a shame too. I had a 2000 WJ with the 4.7L V8. It was actually a hot rod, being 2wd, with a factory 3.73 posi. But they put the engine computer so close to the exhaust manifold that the cooked a PCM pretty much every 9 months on cue.

Thank god they didn’t fuck around with the trucks! My 2002 Dodge Ram has been a absolute champ, racking up 221,000 pretty much trouble free miles so far. However, I’m guessing they had something to do with that damn dash cracking!

How about Rallycrossing a Land Yacht?

Here’s a different twist for you.

I honestly didn’t MIND the show, I think it’s great to see stuff like this, but I have a serious issue with the whole sleeper thing. I don’t think ONE vehicle qualified as a sleeper....these were all drag monsters, especially that Thunderbird.

Here’s a thought - I don’t want a BRAND, or an IMAGE, or some other pretentious horse shit marketing buzzword.

Quite the shituation these folks have got themselves......

Andrew, I would buy this in a MINUTE over the new car. Yeah, it’s slower, but it’s also now a classic car - the thing’s 20 years old.

David, it’s all about knowing how to shop, brother....looks like you and I know how to do it! Here’s some screen caps of my parts log for the Grand Cherokee:

Make wrenching fun? It’s easy...call over the boys, and start tearing in. In the picture below, myself and friend tore into the Jeep’s way-too-old suspension, and completely refreshed it. The feeling of accomplishment, the tunes, the shop banter, the whole thing makes it very enjoyable, and I grin every time I drive

See.....I could go onto a tirade about how people should just mind their own fuckin’ business.......but I live out in the country where we don’t really give a fuck what our neighbors are stacking, and aren’t close enough to care.

I saw some real peaches in there, the 5 series wagon, and notably, that Nova Twin-Cam. When it comes to cars of this era, the cars that really get the nostalgia pumping for me are well-preserved examples of cars that either people simply used up and threw away, (these would be the cars I saw the most of walking

That little motherfucker is wrecking the upholstery.
