Sure it’s conspicuous in some places or for those who know what Limited/Denali/King Ranch etc mean. For many others though, it’s a way to drive something nice while specifically NOT buying foreign or luxury nameplates.

So a high dollar European luxury car isn’t “conspicuous consumption”? OK, got it.

“Bloody wasteful”? How is a luxo truck “wasteful” compared to, say, a top-of-the-line Benz?

I doubt that very much. My husband has had a 2012 Fusion, a 2013 Taurus (43,000 miles in less than a year), and a 2017 Fusion (that already has 47,000 miles on it). The ‘12 Fusion was pretty nice inside, and the Taurus and newer Fusion were fantastic. Not sure what “hard plastic everywhere” you could be on about.  The

How is this any more frivolous than s high $$$ Benz or BMW? Answer: it isn’t.

It’s hard to feel entitled when one tools around in a clapped out Kia.

A far more attractive and feature laden vehicle?

That’s because he’s realized that we understand that he is jealous that he can’t afford to be an “entitled douchebag” himself, so he mocks others.

If you’re trolling, it’s not clever at all. If you’re serious, then I think this thread speaks for itself.

Like an S class that gets the same combined MPG as a 3.5 Ecoboost?

Someone sounds bitter because they won't be able to afford this truck....

No. I just want to know where your data comes from.

Can you verify at which trim level righteousness shifts to entitlement?

So Range Rovers, Escalades, M cars, AMG cars are all more acceptable?

Yeah, we don’t need “the kind of entitled douchebag who buys a luxury pickup having 450 hp at his disposal”. But, if can ban that, can we please ban “the kind of entitled douchebag who buys a luxury Tesla having 850 hp at his disposal but somehow doesn’t know where his turn signal is?”

No one says this about a luxury sedan or 2 seat sports car that’s just as frivolous. What’s wrong with wanting a nice luxury vehicle that can also do work when needed?
