Mmmm...wha?

Limiting the purchase price to 10% of your annual income makes less sense, since, presumably, you will make your annual income again next year, and the year after that.

It’s not meant to sustain the car market, it’s meant to cut down on the “I lost my job, car got repo’d shortly after, and I fell into bankruptcy/lost everything” stories.

should be grabbing a $6,000 beater

Really? How do you figure? How much effort does it really take to put a kid in a rear-facing car seat? Oh, right, none, because they’re already in there.

Street legal, drag cars.

No, dog pee doesn’t kill grass or flowers.

How do you determine someone’s attitudes and behaviors about finances if you intentionally avoid the subject?

Honest answer, because I’m too lazy to go to the bank and change it. My wife stays at home though, so everything gets paid out of one account anyway, and most accounts/cards opened after we married have been joint (except for one or two that required extra effort to do so). I don’t keep a whole lot in the checking

A frame that will still be there 10 years down the road*?

But what exactly would you do under the hood without tools or destroying things?

They don’t say pure maple syrup, they say pure natural syrup.  And you read it in the exact way they intended.  Cane syrup is still “natural” syrup.  It’s like mixing a bud light and coors, the end result is still 100% pure beer, just not pure coors.

They may not know what “literally” means.  But that’s understandable, as literally nobody knows what that word means.

is vastly simpler than supporting 100 people for up to six months with a 14.7 PSI diff, where O2 must be generated and CO2 scrubbed out. Food, water, and wastes can easily be managed on a 14 hour airplane flight, but the wastes of a hundred people for six months is an engineering and logistical nightmare.

Where you complained that you couldn’t offset your additional state taxes by paying less federal taxes. You’re literally complaining about not being able to pay less federal taxes because your state is increasing taxes.

I pay more than the median income of the U.S. in taxes. I pay more than my fair share.

I don’t mind paying higher taxes to ensure that good teachers get paid a living wage. I knew what my taxes would be when I bought my house. I’m not asking to lower them.

That’s the problem. People are being forced into new cars (trucks) they mostly can’t afford and then are surprised when the economy tanks

My thoughts were “nothing on your plate was tamed before harvest” or some variation on that.

A 500 hp car running at 75% load will be faster than a 100 hp car running at 100% load.
