It was a great fakeout.
It was a great fakeout.
Was it perfect? No.
Was it so much better than basically all of the live-action nuTrek so far that it makes those shows feel worse now in retrospect? Yes, very much so.
In fairness, there’s a lot more to bitch about with Burnham. Not being able to understand her when she whispertalks, the constant emotional breakdowns, the fact that every major galactic event somehow is directly connected to her…
But then Galaxy Quest’s Sam Rockwell showed up.
It’s really going to have to be a precedent for justices to retire after a certain age if they want a similar party replacement during the right administration. Of course with how they treated Obama’s appointee they could have just screwed him over there too
So that’s where uncle Guido went!

I’ll see myself out.
Season three is in the can already.
It’s been renewed for season 3, which has been announced as the final season. So at this point the only way it doesn’t end as planned is if Stewart unexpectedly dies (which, any show working with a lead actor of a certain age really should be planning for the possibility of, sadly)
I just pretend Picard is a different dimension, like the JJ Abramsverse movies.
they really need to hire better writers.
Unfortunately not.
I finally realized that’s one of the things I dislike about Disco and Picard, you have to watch them in order.
I can only hope it has a completely different set of writers.
The serialized storytelling doesn’t bother me. DS9 did it right, weaving an overall plot with standalones. But what I’m most hopeful for is a Trek that recaptures that sense of optimism and adventure that still recognizes humanity’s shortcomings (but shows we can overcome them).
At 54, I’m over manual transmissions. That’s right.....I said it...take your best shot
The only way the Chibnall era will come to any sort of satisfactory conclusion is if in the final 10 minutes, Chibnall appears as himself, laughing maniacally, and revealing that “for the last four years, you’ve been trapped in the Land of Fiction, subject to the whims of a terrible screenwriter!!!”
Then Colin Baker…
I would be interested in a series set in the “Men of Letters” era.
Yes you were... did she turn into a dinosaur and you into a bucket of water? I’m kidding! For some reason my older sisters were big fans of them I guess it was because of their catch phrase? Or maybe because they were twins? I don’t really get the appeal but then again they did have a pet monkey and monkeys are cool I…
I cannot be the only Gen Xer who played Wonder Twins with their sister in the backyard who is excited for this.
