Yeah I used to live in Japan, my wife negotiated them from an old man! Nissan made these until the early 90's I heard, I think these are made by them but sometime later than the 70's based on how clean they are.

I just got a 2011 Acura and I thought the same thing. Although I wish you could turn the feature off as well, sometimes you just want an inch and they just go all the way down.
