Actually in Japan, Subaru is the best with the dog owners. They have a lot of stuff and built in features sometimes. There was one car with a dog cubby on the driver side that I remember there, probably a Kei car. I got a dog bandana at an even there one time.

I need a little petrol engine on board, I can’t go certain places with this thing. I can live without the frunk. I guess a generator can go in there. My 1952 M37 has that pass through cubby.

I may consider a Honda Ridgeline. I have a CRV for commuting now, and my real truck is a 1952 and not good for highway trips. I live in Marin, I have seen a couple. They went nuts for the BMW and Merc diesels for a bit. My neighbor has a diesel 5 series and he said he made it to LA on a tank. 

Disappointing MPGs, I thought at least 36, hoping for near 40. Not worth it, I think a plug in hybrid is worth it if you can commute mostly on the battery.  

There could be a lot of progress made by then, I’m 40 and a lot was done in the past 40 years. We are getting into gene editing and who knows what breakthroughs could happen. My great grandmother was 101 and several people in my family have been 97 or so.
