Yeah that’s the same boot as a 240Z, there is actually a rubber one under it as a barrier since it’s just open to the road basically under the rubber one. When I put a real leather boot on my Z I considered ust leaving the rubber but it’s just not meant to be the exposed one.

Well it’s ok to take the train in Japan but in the US it can be a nightmare. I live in Marin so no train at all, but other people in my union have described experiences on BART and it sounds awful, from assault to just disgusting things.
