My dad was a pilot in Nam and he said they had huey shells that they just rolled in the water and a diver watched them get unhooked. I was like you I guess, it wasn’t hard but I’m sure it would be tough after slamming into the ocean.

Yeah they use/used those a lot for cattle ranching in Australia due to the huge distances. Well they kill a lot of people, never fly those.
I would probably only consider something like these light buggy/paraglider things. If you got some land out in somewhere remote it could be a cool way to get to it.
