Erik, not sure what you’re going through, or if this post is a cry for help or maybe you need to seek counseling, but your whole trip sounds like a personal problem.

Eastern Kentucky is a no-mans land for smooth brained inbreds. The coal mines ruined any chance at a future for the majority of those people. Literally trapped them in company towns and secluded hollows with poverty and the promise that a socialist union job would save them (ironic right!)

Good wheels are to cars what sneakers are too hypebeasts.

Had a chance to buy a set of these and the OEM wheels they mount to a few years ago. I passed on it, but seeing the pricing of them now I wish I had hoarded them.

Minilites and Watanabe wheels are a great choice! Had a set on a mid 60s Mini and they looked tough!

Also good for draining pasta!

Rolling sculptures. Good pick!

This is a very under the radar rig. great suggestion!

The “Cooling” seat covers title is suuuuuper misleading. It does not actively cool like a ventilated seat does, it simply buffers the surface temp.

Welcome! More sermons and BBQ on Wednesdays!

Ah yes! There is something so pure and connected about a cross country road trip. Just you, the car, a van full of support team, a lot of extra parts, thousands of dollars in funding from sponsors, a schedule and deliverables deadlines, and the open road. And it’s all a tax write off!

You’re comparing the HVAC/Radio stack on a Honda to the entire data display on a Tesla. Thats like comparing a bad meal at nobu to a bad meal at Applebees. What would your reaction be if in your year old Honda the entire gauge cluster and info/hvac displays just randomly shutoff?

hahaha. best comment.

Scott, you had to reboot your Civic and your dads Accord because every single readable display stopped working while you were on autopilot?

My main question here is, with all our advances in materials technology; better metallurgy, better safety systems, lighter and stronger materials, Why haven’t truck sizes stayed the same as they were 10-15 years ago since in essence they shouldn’t need to be bigger to be more safe???

I’m all for the free market, Are you saying that people shouldn’t be able to purchase and drive what they choose?

Well, since data mining is such a huge industry, and companies pay for access to data, a company would have to be formed to pay for repair data from dealerships and independent but reputable repair shops.

I’m all for this. A real world Cost-to-Own chart for used cars would be great. I usually spend hours pulling together that type of data for a specific car I’m looking to buy, along with scouring the forums to find out all the minor and major problems at various mileages.

This is actually a pretty fun purchase.
