I have to disagree here. My parents always buy the nicest f150 available, but they never trade them in. If you pay 60k for a truck and own it for a decade then you probably come out alright. I bought my parents old f150 (2006 fx4 with a sticker of 48k). It’s still tugging along at 280k. It’s not just seats you get for

Congrats you know what Roadkill is, you probably liked them before they “sold out”. For the rest of us who don’t have a YouTube account we need reminders or even introductions to shows like roadkill.

Result would been the same in nearly any car. Just picked a bad line, ran wide, and added a helpful dose of stupidity. Tech makes a car smarter, but the weakest link will always be between the pedals and driver seat.

Radiators in the wrx ate a tree stump while offroading. Can’t get a core support till next week. Oh well

Replacing radiator on the 2002 wrx and bleeding the power steering on the 63 thunderbird.

Nice price the sticker on my 2006 fx4 f150 was a few hundred off that when new. The nicer trucks have always cost around 50k for at least the last decade.

That's vintage American car levels of janky. The true test for when a car is a classic, is when you see they were more frequented by mice then humans.

A properly restored 78 trans am with ws6 package should have poly bushings, revalvedshocks, and a quick ratio steering box. They pulled around .83g’s on a skid pad. Not great, but people forget that’s better and close to what Porsches were making in terms of lateral g’s.

For a specialty car, it’s usually better to go nada value. This year Spyder ranges from 11,000 to mid 20's. It depends on what someone will pay ultimately.

I had a pal like this f250 lifted...wouldn’t tow with it, off road with it, or do anything with it. Couldn’t drive it on the freeway, because the lift and tires limited it’s speed to 50ish mph. I always felt sad for that poor truck.

I’ve always wondered if passenger occupancy mattered more, because maybe families value crash test ratings more. When you have kids I think that makes a difference.

Going to agree there paid 2500 for my iron convertible 9 years ago. I haven’t seen a driver even close to mine for 4k in a long time. I think the foxbody is also a safe bet, but those have risen in price as well.

Depends on the convertible. Not all convertibles are the same afterall. Some are made in limited runs and have manual tops. Those can take a few minutes to put up or down. If it took you 5 minutes to roll up your window you might skip it a time or two.

Throw away account on kinja with no history, claiming to know other throwaway social media accounts....seems legit.

Why is it every vintage beater car has worked it’s way up in value to decent car territory on craigslist? A 1979 Honda civic is not a 3-5k car even if it runs and drives but needs a little “tlc” in the form of a frame off restoration. A new Ford Fiesta costs around 13k without incentives (I’ve seen manuals for 10k

This article is pretty brutal. I am no vw fan, but their quality is on par with most German brands. I agree their smoke emissions are on par with Marlboro on the other hand.

Maybe it’s growing up in rural America, but why do people even want to ride a quad or dirt bike in cities or major roads? Has the economy gotten so bad squids can’t get a gixxer? An atv especially is only fun on dirt or in a pool of mud

Am I the only one who believes this is really just another excuse to build more toys for paintball and airsoft purposes. Just saying if I was building mock aircraft carriers and tanks, I’d run more than a few mock battles on them...with a gold plated tippman.

One thing that always grinds my gears is when you buy new shiny suspension stuff and theres no new hardware. There’s no point in using old bolts even in a case like your xj, I did my rear suspension the same way for my camaro. Oe budget parts where I could make them work(Went with some tuned shocks and other bits

My 1981 Z28. I was a kid and bought it out of impulse. On the test drive the lower coolant hose blew....I still purchased it. Screws were used to plug vacuum lines, the car had a ONE year only computer system from 1981 that was in charge of timing. It caught fire twice and broke down just about every drive. In the end
