Oddly enough , I feel satisfied with the one engine option. The 2.3L turbo makes same numbers as a small v8 from a few years ago. It will serve the purpose of most ranger buyers. A diesel eventually perhaps but I think Ford did ok with choosing the 2.3.

When i was 18-20 looking for an old used beater, there were 3-4 of these used around town, they were all probably 5-10 years old. I constatly chased the owners trying to buy one from them. I couldn’t afford a breakdown obviously but they were cool. Ended up with an 88 Sentra that had brown pinstripes and brown
