Serious question: what are the advantages over a 4runner or sequoia? Better offroad capabilities overall? Reliability? I have a sequoia, and not nearly enough budget for a LC so didn’t consider one very seriously. I’’m also in CO... there’s about 4 million 4runners and tacos out here, but I see a lot fewer LCs.

Bill Gates daughter might be new to billionaire money, but the Gates’s were rich before Bill. The giant international law firm K&L Gates? That’s Bill Gates’s dad. Bill Gates grew up wealthy.

This is going to get shouted down, but is the correct take. $60k on a new car while making something just over $100k for a year? Yeah, that’s dumb.

As a guy with anxiety issues myself and with kids to boot, I’ll tell you what I do. I buy everything used so that I worry about it less. In the past I have found myself unable to enjoy my stuff because I’m worried about it getting damaged, scraped, stolen etc. For me, it’s very liberating just not to care as much. I

Apologies if I seem mad, I’m not (no sarcasm, I’m really not - however, I don’t like being projected on - Harris was not my choice). I also support those other activities you mention and am aware of them. What I don’t support (because it doesn’t work), is that Ds seem perpetually unable (moreso that Rs) to rally

I don’t get to question the men in charge? I’ll take what they give, me or else?” Frankly, pretty much. Are you in senior leadership in the Democratic party? Are you a union president? No? Then yeah, your option is to vote D, or not. That’s kind of it. I didn’t invent our two-party replublic/democracy... don’t blame

Yep, those are my second favorite methods.  My favs being the Method ones that look like the Diamond Cutter.

I live in THIS america, not your version of utopia. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. Your other option is Trump.

I’ve said it before here, and I’ll say it again. This is a hugely historic choice, and the VP pick being a black-asian woman is a big deal. VP is not Secretary of State (sorry HRC). The US has a looooong history of VPs become Ps. Fourteen (14!), many of whom D’s really like. Biden (likely, jinx), Bush I, Ford, Nixon

I owned a manual, rear wheel drive compact pickup in Seattle (in the city). It’s hilly as balls. Whoever designed the streets was just like “whatever, hills, i’m just gonna build me a grid.” In the winter when it was hovering around freezing, I could literally just slide through stop signs and lights going downhill.

What’s with the wheels?  Stance bruh?

I would drive the crap out of the Nyan-rari. I don’t care that I’m a middle aged dad. Would hoon all dam day.

LOL @12.4 amps, and 165 watts. Them’s gonna be real HOT. Do not touch. Also, fried bug smell.

“Fiesta ST”? Dang, you’re definitely the cool parent. I had to share a 10 year old base model compact pickup with my sister when I “got” a first car.

Fair enough, I’ll let you off the hook.  It was actually a Sprinter van anyway.  Stupid van-lifers.

It was YOU!!!!  😉

I asked my 3 year old if I should lift our car and get bigger tires. Answer: YES!!  Also, her brothers, 5, 7, and 9, all agree.

THIS. If you have an SUV, hitch rack all day.  I’ve been a convert for a while having driven thousands of miles with bikes on a roof rack.  Roof racks suck.  Especially for mountain bikes. Increasingly for road bikes with thru axles.

Amen. I head to a trail a few times a year, so I don’t really “need” boards, but I’m considering getting some just for the snow. I got stuck in a parking lot at a ski area for several HOURS last year because people literally didn’t have traction to drive out of the parking lot entrance... some boards would have been

I feel your pain:  I’m sitting on the max of 12 at the moment. Can’t decide my next sci-fi fix...
