Wow, you really missed the point of that question.

This woman is smart. She is playing the long game. Good for her! She recognizes that it is more important to fix the broken system than being a complacent (relatively speaking) part of it.

It would probably look better without the plastic cladding on the wheel arches,

“other Golf 8 models are still under consideration for the North American Region.”

You and me both. I was in high school back in the mid 90's and one of the kids drove one. Very impressive for the time.

I thought it was the same. Turns out I was wrong, The Old’s is on the N platform while this was on the L. Had the same Quad 4 tho. And I remember being pretty impressed with a NA 4-pot motor pushing out similar HP#’s as a lot of V’8's of the same era.

I preferred the look of these more.

Seriously, WTF are you buying a god damn brand new Merc for then?

Those 19-inch wheels would have been pretty epic in 2001, too. Back then, aftermarket wheels that size on a car like this weren’t common to see on the street.

Read the fucking room!

It has a gawd-damn GATED manual shifter. This is Jalopnik, there shouldn’t even be a CP option. Fight me!

I have two kids 20 months apart and a large energetic dog that makes my life constantly chaotic. My wife and I were on autopilot for seemingly two years. I can totally understand how dazed a parent can get dealing with the responsibility of raising two young kids simultaneously. The fact that they were twins only

And passing on a two lane road. You damn near commit to pass just to check if the coast is clear.

You think GM is going to buy salvaged Ford GTs to try and get a couple hundred transaxles?

Point is, it already exists...they are out there. They can be purchased. The likelihood that an adapter plate and mounts can be fabricated to fit that trans in the C8 is a real possibility. The type of person like me who see this as an opportunity says to your comment, I will have fun with my $13k transmission.

Can anyone else think of a manual trans axle capable of handling the high high horsepower and torque of the new Vette tuned to the moon???

Used to pit for a NASCAR team that ran at CTMP. 22's were very quick. If I remember correctly, the last time I was there about 4 years ago, pole was a mid 24. That’s in a dedicated race car with over 500HP. Sure its NASCAR which isn’t known for its twistiest prowess but still, 22's in a road car. That’s moving out!

I know this guy who approves...

Don’t forget the Jag...that’s a nice piece.
