Depends how you say it. Don't let it end the conversation — that's the key.

I can't judge you as a person because I don't know you. All I am judging is what you wrote as a person who has known way too many kids from divorced homes. If you feel that defensive about what i said, maybe you should ask yourself why.
I'm setting myself up for flames. But you really should have left them before deciding to have a kid. That's terrible for the kid. No matter what you say, somewhere in his mind, he's going to be thinking that his dad and him weren't good enough for you. When you have a kid, it is no longer about you anymore.
I was going to say, you need that disclaimer at the end of the article. Because there has never been a pizza made that I didn't want to eat all at once :)
yikes. very brave of them. doesn't seem like a particularly bright idea either. Everyone has different priorities. I don't think this an exercise that would benefit from groupthink.
Yes, but it rings true nevertheless. Just because you don't win the race or get the gold prize doesn't mean that you should feel a failure. The true success stories in America are the people who moved on from to setbacks to their own success.
Posting your growth list was a brave step, but I don't think drop out of school is necessarily something to aim for.
You are completely right, it is your decision. You sound very defensive about it, so I'd recommend asking yourself why.
You should especially do it if your taxes are straightforward since that is free.
Turbo Tax will pay penalties so long as you entered the info correctly.
That's really not a good enough case. You are wasting good money. Its one thing if you have rental properties, run your own business, have a lot of capital campaigns or have some complicated scenario involving a lot of receipts. But if you are not a complicated scenario, you are going to be paying a lot of extra…
I'm coming to realize how true this is. The brain is an organ after all, and those tend to work well with good circulation.
Manual copy to usb drive that goes in a fire/water resistant safe.
very good idea. I also make generous use of outlook flags.
Agreed. Hope you can make a "career change"
Thanks, but can't we just use a LED lightbulb?
My take is do the work at night if you need to, but don't reply if you can help until the morning. That way you can recheck what you are doing when you are fresh.
ah the irony. and I thought I was the most crochety person on this site.
I totally agree. My solution is to just a snowblower, and stay on top of the snow before it becomes ice. But for those occasional serious ice storms, I'd be curious what works best.
How about taking notes during the lecture as well? If you are going to attend something and not make notes, you either have the world's most amazing memory or you are wasting your time.
