while I understand some of what you are saying, you should ponder what you are saying. Making statements like that lets you remain a victim, by saying its not my fault, I have no control over it. Competition is human nature. Just reading lifehacker is about following a different set of Joneses. The real trick is to find something that will make you happy and doesn't involve endlessly chasing a carrot.

I disagree with this tip. Its not dishonest, but it is counterproductive. However, the recruiter is doing you a favor. Do you really want that super long commute? It just wastes time to have an interview and find you that you hate the drive.
