Here we are three years later and Top Gear USA is still running strong! Remember when they said it was a bad ripoff and would never last?

They were wrong. The producers learned from their mistakes. And now we have an entertaining show that's better than 98% of what is on T.V. today.

Squared off C-Pillars should DIE.

That trunk of the car looks stunning...

If I were in that market, I'd gladly pay the premium to not have Beetle looks

NC Miata. If you want a limited slip, you're talking $26k+ for a car that doesn't even have 175hp, and they're not all that light. Yes, they're fantastic cars, but I just can't see why anyone looks at the price of a new one and doesn't go elsewhere with their money.

War booty?

Yeah I know you're paying for exclusivity, or prestige, or some other bullshit. It's still way too much money for what, in my opinion, is an ugly SOB.

Porsche Boxster

Essentially built off of a modified Silverado/Sierra platform (which starts around $22K), the 'Slade starts around $63K (Although I'm sure the huge profits from tarted-up SUV's are used to balance out the probable low-profits from the lowly work trucks). While asking 63K + for a huge luxury vehicle is acceptable,

Porsche Boxster. You get the power of a V6 Mustang for the cost of a Corvette.

Mini Roadster JCW. Starts at $35,000. Could have had a well-equipped Camaro, Mustang, or Challenger for that price.

watched the engine bay shot a couple times and found this:

This is a stupid sport.

Difference though is that they were both drivers, and the other driver had a helment on. This was a woman not involved in the race. She should not have been able to get that close. What next we get a Dimebag Darrel-like killing in NASCAR. That woman needs to be banned from NASCAR races for life and/or arrested for

I've got a 1998 BMW 540 with roughly 300HP. Fifteen years ago I remember reading an article in one of the car mags about them running pony cars at stoplights in theirs.

still would get 12C...

I'm curious how long a drag race it was. The Porsche has a clear advantage in a short race with the crazy 4wd launch, and because they are fairly close I'm sure it can maintain that over a quarter, or even half mile. But I would bet in a standing mile the McLaren would get its own back.

I've seen a 12C blow away a 458, a car that nearly made me vomit. Regardless if its a beetle, thats fast.
