I like Star Trek, and I like Tarantino, and I want to say it could never work... but it could totally work. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a 55% chance it doesn’t work, but there’s a smaller but still good chance it’s a very good movie.
This type of urban driving will probably be the hardest to program, but the most rewarding to people who buy autonomous cars. So kudos to GM for being open about their progress and aiming higher for full autonomy than just super cruise. A taco truck stop is silly, sure, but they didn’t hit anything. I want this to be…
I think cars should work independently of any information network. Or at least be able to as needed. Think if there were a war and the internet or GPS were taken out for a time. Be best if that didn’t cripple out ability to drive around. Plus if you’ve got that backup and there’s a hack you’re covered, just…
I think v2v will be very useful but see benefit in that car makers will have to make all cars smart enough on their own, and this will develop multiple OSes and techniques with each car being able to operate independent of v2v. I could foresee cars becoming too reliant on v2v infrastructure and that might make it a…
I would buy an autonomous car. I love driving but I hate traffic. As long as you can still choose to drive and choosing to drive is still fun, and the autonomous part works really well, then count me in on autonomous cars.
Would they still be able to pick it up if you clicked it without the RF constantly transmitting?
Only $89 Billion? Better get a paper route, Gates!
I wonder if the 25 year import rule and continued US obsession with Skylines has anything to do with this
If you look at the smoke in white it looks like the Pacific Northwest and Canada are smoking a lot. Are those wildfires or maybe a lot of people making fires to keep warm or something else? You see it in the Southeast around Georgia for part of the year as well.
I don’t know, if SpaceX has launch prices way down with the reusable rockets they could be making money while still charging less.
That sucks. To me it’s not that hard to change out wheels and tires, if that’s all that’s holding you back from a record then by all means you should be able to change them out. You can put race tires on any car, they’re expendables.
I like it, but if the headlights were just a little bit wider or bigger then I’d like it even more. Looks sort of squinty, just too small for the car. I hear the other posters on the grill but it doesn’t bug me as much as the headlights.
Banning drivers will happen I think once there’s another option, such as autonomous vehicles. Uber and Lyft gets you part of the way there, but I think AV’s will be the final push over the line. If you’re a shitty driver or making bad decisions you don’t get to drive anymore, get an autonomous car or an Uber/Lyft or…
There has to be more to this story. While I totally believe politicians would be misguided enough to do this in a vanilla student loan situation, I’d bet it turns out some unscrupulous people have been gaming the student loan system and this is their (bad) idea to stop it.
That looks great. I want that now and my headliner is fine.
“I want to live someplace where I don’t have to drive a car.” said way too many people, apparently.
The 90's had some good designs, this seems a whole lot like the McLaren F1 in style, HP, and seating config.
Maybe Trucks are a pissing contest to Musk, so whoever has the biggest and most powerful truck wins. Being able to haul an F-150 in the bed would be indicative of that
