I hope they just everyone’s plates via drone and pick them up later on. I’m sure some didn’t have plates, but I’m guessing plenty of idiots did.

Agreed. I’m stoked they are doing this. Right now, basically only FCA (or whatever it is now) makes cool colored vehicles outside of people with tons of money that have special ordered an expensive german vehicle.
Agreed! I would love to take this on, but it seems like they could make it MUUUCH easier if it was sold with engine mount conversions and a few other simple items.
With inflation such as it is, the $1,500 to $2,000 used cars in decent condition just don’t exist anymore. The fact that this thing is not miserably filthy or damaged means its worth $3,500 or so regardless of the fact it’ll definitely be unreliable.
You are misunderstanding the facts.
You can, they are just heavy and large to store. In Denver these are pretty common and they live on people’s vehicles year round because it’s an expensive city and most young people don’t have extra storage space.
The joke of all this is that auto loans made in 2018 and 2019 are pretty much “in-the-money” on their cars, lol.
Their estate tax rate would be 40% on the vast majority of anything they receive above the estate tax exemption limit so they would actually have a higher tax liability than if they received it at his basis and then paid capital gains when they decided to sell.
Conceptually, I don’t think taxes should be owed unless you realize a gain. For that reason, I do not think that death should be a taxable event.
I don’t think it’s that the cars are necessarily too wide, I think some people just are having trouble driving in a narrower lane lined with bollards.
Dallas > Houston, but honestly both cities are pretty terrible places to live compared to other major metros.
The CX-5 is the best car in that segment. My wife has one and it’s great.
Society is so soft. The outrage machine needs more fuel.
I think you and I agree on this matter.
Resetting basis is clearly low hanging fruit, but it’s also a massive tax upon the middle class. Most middle class families transfer wealth only through transfer of their homes.
He would have to sell pieces of his company to pay the tax. Kind of strange.
If they do retract it, they’ll do it quietly and without an equally polarizing headline, so the damage is already done.
If you guys really want to get scared, you know the government is NEVER going to let Roth 401ks go un-taxed?
You realize that’s just forshadowing for when the Google Pixel 72 becomes self aware and begins capturing all skin tones of the human race. Race won’t exist in the eyes of our robot overlords.
I thought this would be the case, but I know a good number of people that pay for it. It can be as cheap as $30/yr if you’re willing to haggle with sirius.
