Those trucks used to be greater donors for rock crawling axles, but they’ve since gotten very expensive and its like people have forgotten just how under powered they are.

Gotta remember that used car prices are also insane, so that’s part of the inflation.
The story seems kind of fake, but hollywood has never minded a little bit of exaggeration either. Hope they have fun. I wish I had taken a big cross-America road trip prior to joining the corporate drone workforce.
The duke boys were doing this in the 70's, what’s the big deal?
You’re really underestimating how much it costs to lift and put larger tires on a wrangler. It’s $4k to get 35's, new wheels, and a lift kit installed. Another $3k for appropriate gears. Easy. These are pretty typical mods for most of the mall crawler types you see driving around
It was a mistake to only make this available on the Rubicon. I’m sure it’s because of the dana 44 axles, but still.
It makes me feel like less of a car enthusiast, but that tech gets used every time I turn on the car and I can’t imagine living without it now.
I am not buying another vehicle without apple car play. Now that I have it in my F-150 and my wife’s CX5 I’m never going back. I even thought about trying to add it to my XJ.
Generally, it’s only illegal to discriminate based upon protected classes and a business can use its discretion on who and where they do business. Certain industries have additional regulation, but that’s kind of the general gist.
People on Jalopnik are weirdly nostalgic about trucks like this, but very few actually buy them.
Yeah, all of that is a possibility. All you call tell from these photos is that my mans needs a pressure washer for that driveway!
Yeah, someone can look it up and see your address. If you had something super rare, super valuable, and/or easy to steal, it might make sense.
This was a $3,000 truck last year. Great condition and low mileage, but wrong engine and driveline. It might be a decent deal in today’s market, but its still hard to swallow.
Paying cash for a car when interest rates are so low is foolish.
Very thorough.
Pro-tip - prioritize living near your place of employment as much as absolutely possible (or WFH). It’ll save you on wear and tear on your car and gas, but most importantly it’s just about the best thing you can do for your mental health.
I’ve never understood how people that can spend $30k+ on a new car, but can’t handle their annual fuel bill increasing by $500-$1000/yr.
You’re dealing with the government and a union job. They can’t just fire people unless they fail to follow a critical protocol such as not turning on a body cam. This is the fastest route for firing people. While unions can be good, unions have made it very challenging for police to get rid of bad cops.
I must be qualified for the LAPD then... hah. Their solution was to create a pipe bomb on the back of a semi truck, so my “stupid” idea still seems like a better plan.
The 2007 Toyota Camry with a 275hp V6 was a game changer for me. It was a bland, beige car with nearly as much horsepower as all of the “sporty” options out there at the time.
