It doesn’t just vary by region, but it varies by *person*.
It doesn’t just vary by region, but it varies by *person*.
Did you miss the “if it’s surging at all” caveat?
I think it’s really funny that everyone who parrots the “just get a new job or drive for someone else” don’t realize that an Uber and Lyft essentially simultaneously gutted the taxi, black car (livery), and other cab markets, while creating what is essentially a monopoly.
Six months ago, you would have been right.
Which contract? The “contract” I signed in 2016 when I signed up is not the same one that lyft and Uber quietly introduced in the form of an app update and TOS change.
You misunderstand.
If I were really an independent contractor, I could set the value of my labor.
If that’s the case, the whole service would grind to a halt. Full time drivers make the service work.
Does Lyft count, or do you just want Uber? I drive for both, but I primarily focus on lyft.
To be fair, Uber Black = Livery black car service.
Me. Because of the glut of Elantras in general, you can get a manual Elantra for as low as $13,500. Is it the best car? No.
I’m surprised they cut it on the sport model, but this model is one of the older cars in its segment. It’s base chassis came out in 2016, and I don’t think the whole platform was really all new. I think it was a heavily refreshed 2011+ car.
Just like yesterday’s Uber strike article, these anti-worker comments are baffling.
I’m pretty sure the failure of this transmission killed the Fiesta and Focus in North America. Not only did the Fiesta and Focus usually sell with heavy incentives, but it warranty costs must have been sky high.
Lyft and Uber have “destination filters” that in theory give you rides on your way to the place you’re going.
There are two problems with this:
1. Lyft and Uber drivers don’t know where you’re going until you get in the car, so we can’t accept/decline based upon whether or not we think its worth it. And we get penalized…
Lyft is equally bad. They’re just nice about it.
But on eBay, I can set my own price. On Uber/Lyft, I can’t.
I really don’t get the bootlicking. Uber is a terrible company, and so is Lyft.
Yep, and wearing out its tires, depreciating, and possibly other shit too.
God forbid if it was a self-driving ICE or Hybrid car, then now you have to deal with wear items like oil changes, spark plugs, et al.
Those cost money.
Because Uber and Lyft gutted the black car market; many businesses who once used livery companies now just hire Uber/Lyft black cars now.
