For the first time in my adult life, I’m considering not watching the superbowl. Perhaps I’ll check in to see if it’s close in the 4th quarter. I don’t care about Atlanta and it’s just painful to watch NE win. Am I getting old?

I disagree with your comment on the Clinton Initiative; as someone who works in international health, I’ve seen their impact on drastically lowering prices for AIDS drugs, which has helped bring a lot more people on treatment.

“There is nothing I can say to you to convince you to vote for a democrat.”

Yes, but 63 million people voted for Trump. If we simply label them all as racist/mysogynist/evil is, IMHO, both simplistic and shows that we are unable to learn to address issues that concern a broader group of Americans.

“You made a choice to be on board with every vile thing he says, supports and does” I think you might believe that, but those who voted for him don’t necessarily believe it. And if we ultimately want some of them to vote for a Democrat next time, this might not be the best way to go about it.

The problem with your blanket statement is that 42% of women and 30% of Hispanics voted for Trump. So either these women and Hispanics are ok with misogyny and racism against themselves, or people are able to rationalize away Trump’s statements because they agree with his other policies and/or hated Clinton. And if

I really watch a lot of sports and go to baseball games often. Am I the only sports fan who could really care less about the HoF, MVP voting, All Starts, and whatnot? Individual honors in team sports are just not interesting to me.

Agreed; I thought it was for women only as well. I didn’t google it because I thought I knew the answer. I know about 10 women going; I don’t know of any men going.

If this is the lesson that we have taken away from the election, then we are going to lose the next one as well.

I hate watch college football. I don’t care who wins, I’m just excited about one of them losing.

Sorry, we in Cascadia are already building that wall, including one on the Oregon border with CA, haha.

I agree 100%. Articles like this one, and shows like the Daily Show and Samantha Bee, while lots of fun, keep us in our bubble of smugness. Sorry liberal America (of which I am part), but a lot of smart, non racist people voted for Trump. 45% of college educated women voted for Trump, for heaven’s sake.

To clarify; we beatnicks are the Sounders supports, not the Seahawks. Neato, kiddo!

I find it hard to take any media people seriously when they condemn the players and owners for covering up the drug use, since they were as complicit in knowing and not saying anything.

“SEATTLE. ....a deep-seated paranoia about East Coast Bias”

We liberals seem to have a bottomless ability to delude ourselves. Make no mistake, he wants to be in charge and has clear goals in his mind of what he wants to achieve. He’s not going away unless we beat him in 2020; they only way we are going to do that, it to actually have a message that appeals to white male

I think we also can’t deny that we had a less inspiring and motivating candidate.

That’s the face of someone who’s been putting up with a lot of shit, and realizes she’s got some thinkin’ to do.

Agreed 100%. The relentless pursuit of perfection is killing the flow of the game.

“I’m starting to get scared of all the nuts who own guns, and what might happen after the election, regardless of the outcome.”
