I’m not handy when it comes to working on most cars, but I do all the work on my own 2cv. Parts are still being made by the thousands and they’re dead cheap, there’s nothing challenging about fixing up or owning one.

I tested out the 0-60 on an abandoned runway once. Baring in mind we had 3 people in the car and the surface was terrible, we ran out of road at about 55 and after around 40 seconds. Joyful still.

Haha, oddly the slow versions are the ones worth the most, they’re the purer, most simple examples from the 50s. Mine is an ‘83 with the full 600cc, I hit 75mph in it once! A proper, well serviced one has no trouble holding 65 to 70 all day though.

It’ll also run for eternity, so no one really needs to. All the parts are still produced though, and a few sites out there will build you a totally brand new one to order, so no need to fret!
