You make a really good point. I have a friend who married in her mid-50s, and while not wealthy, she def has property, financial security, etc. She married her long term partner after a catastrophic accident. During her convalescence her live-in partner was completely supportive—emotionally and physically. I flew up

Just so long as she doesn’t go to one of those “shit-hole” countries. :-/

Looking at the pix of that dude, I’m convinced Bella Thorne hates her parents.

LOL, I adored SM in Dirk Gently, Holistic Detective. And what’s his name, Darren Boyd had great timing and chemistry with Mangan’s Dirk. I have had zero interest in the new incarnation of the Holistic Detective Agency and Dirk Gently. And I would watch anything starring Stephen Mangan.  I subscribe to Acorn TV and

Seriously, I mention having a ‘second breakfast’ every chance I get. I really don’t care if I’m the only one in the room who’s laughing. It’s hilarious.

:-(  very brave!

Oh, my god. Yes!

It’s not you yourself who is the monster in the scenario you describe. The environment in which you grew up sounds really monstrous. I recognize that not everyone is not as fortunate as others including myself. I work in the public schools and I hear sad histories of unsupported children living with ‘at risk’ families.

I’m so sorry to hear about your father’s decline and subsequent move. I know from experience that caring for elderly parents and family members is an exercise in sublimation of emotion over harsh reality as a means to care for them humanely. I was listening to The Moth this afternoon, and found myself weeping over the

Well, tallest Deadhead, maybe

Good call, that’s an easy get.

Good one!

I never watched that show, ‘Friends’. I’m too old for the demographic and the comedy didn’t appeal to me on any level. So it came as quite a surprise (to me) when I watched ‘Episodes’ (I love Stephen Mangan) and discovered that Matt LaBlanc is a really gifted comic actor. I had no idea. I’m his newest, oldest fan!

Great story, I lol. Sometimes I still think about how hilarious she was on Letterman, and miss seeing her on the reg. Very funny lady, and seemed to be game for anything, as your anecdote demonstrates. She put up with Dave, too, which ain’t nothing.

Understandable. I hope things start getting better for you soon. I hate roadblocks and detours, as I’m sure you do as well. Endure, and hopefully all will be well. Very soon, hopefully!

Those shitty parents also owe the kid an apology over the abomination that is her name: “Everleigh”. Christ, what a burden that would be, unless she grows up to be a stripper, I guess.

I love this stuff as upholstery fabric or wall coverings. But as fabric for a garment, never ever ever.

Agreeing with those who questioned the whole concept of Star’s dress. But also, why is she standing with her shoulders hunched forward like that. I know her mother, if no-one else, told her to, “Stand up straight for goodness sake!”
