Honestly, this sneak peek was weak. I’m honestly more worried about this film than SOLO.

We debated this. Ultimately, there were two staffers, who shall remain nameless, that maintain the Showgirls sex scene is “intentionally and artfully bad” and therefore actually good.
Any “bad sex” list without the Showgirls pool scene is dead to me.
Michael B. Jordan needs to be a star. The fact that almost every review gives him as much attention as Boseman makes me happy.
But, didn’t she name names? Or am I thinking of someone else?
I love Hugh Grant if only because Music and Lyrics is one of the best rom-coms ever and he just happens to be in it.
The Richard and Emily storyline DID pay off, though - they were never looking to move, they were looking for a house for Lorelai and Luke. And the scene were Emily finally shows Lorelai the house they chose was an amazing way to set up Lorelai finally realizing that the wedding wasn’t going to happen.
Really? I find that Hugh Grant as a romantic lead is one of the strangest things about the 90s. He comes off as incredibly bland to me. And him playing a PM in Love Actually was the biggest miscast of all time. And he didn’t have it during his heyday, but he’s aged into this kind of smarm. Probably why “About A Boy”…
I would agree, but the 15 minutes of the show with Christian Borle (or however you spell his name) and Sutton Foster was the worst to me, and I love both of them have seen them on broadway, but was in no way needed on this program.
man, paris and rory would have been amazing if rory could actually get any kind of forward character growth (like realizing she’s not the wunderkind her family/town leads her to believe and moving beyond that/being okay with it- maybe having Paris as a partner work into that realization/growth somehow). Also if this…
Yeah. The revival turned Jess and Rory ending up together as a depressing downer to me. Since he clearly grew as a person and she backslid.
I agree with you that 7>6 but I’m going to argue with Jess and Rory ending up together. She’s a hot mess that he doesn’t deserve to be saddled with. While he would be good for her, she’s far too self absorbed to be good for him. (Honestly, this is usually my argument against a lot of popular pairings, but usually it’s…
The Life and Death Brigade Drug Trip was god awful. At least the Paul Anka thing *was* a dream. Part of the reason the LBD sequence was so terrible for me was my slow, sinking realization that this wasn’t a dream sequence, so within the world of Gilmore Girls, we’re supposed to accept that there was a talking crow.…
April is actually a decent character and Vanessa plays her well. April’s just the worst plot device.
It always bothered me (though at this point it’s sooooo far down the list of Palladino gripes) that more wasn’t done to lean into Anna’s similarities to Lorelai. Sherilyn and Lauren even look a lot alike. Why didn’t the show just make a joke about Luke’s fondness for snappy brunettes and then move on from this plot…
“If you were to disappear from the face of the earth tomorrow, the only person who would miss you is your Porsche dealer.”
Even in the worst episodes, Paris is still the best.
I don’t know why you thought the Real Paul Anka dream was out of place. It was a textbook example of Amy’s sense of humor (even if her husband technically wrote it. She no doubt gave him the idea!)
So many memories and he was a key part of Square One. RIP Reg.
When it comes to songs on Square One Television where Cathey was front and centre, I also think of this early courtroom-drama appearance:
I loved Square One back then. I can’t believe I didn’t remember he was one of the stars. I miss that show. And that whole era of public TV for kids.
