Dunno, my best friend had a 2003 E500 with the SBC and the pump and system failed twice. He sold his when the 150K warranty expired on the brake system, upgrading to the W212 E400 4-matic. He misses the W211, a lot... but he misses the V8, not the whole car.

My old W123 240D, replaced with W124 E300D, and my current W212 E250D ... all were/are incredible. I have a very very soft spot for the W124 though. Best CAR ever. This pic was taken shortly before it was totaled in a street flood. Give or take, this car had somewhere around 475K on it...

Alaska Airlines uses them on their short hop flights out of Seattle. I was in one over the summer. They’re actually pretty fast planes...

I’v owned a 2.6L Sportline version, I LOVED it! I’ve had W124 also, which I ultimately prefer, though the seats in the Sportline (same as 2.3-16/2.5-15) were the best in any car I have ever owned.
