While I’ve never driven those or the Compass, I would think a Roots style supercharger on the 2.4l (kinda like the early Cobalt SS/SC) would be a better choice for those little rigs, especially if going into areas where there would be mountains and possible trail work. Are you sure that’s just not the drive by wire system?  The N/A V6 in my 200 kinda has that feeling and the drive by wire just doesn’t respond like any of the cable actuated throttles I’ve used.
