Things aren’t that bad. I recently (last month) bought my wife a new Honda CRV hybrid. After checking prices online, I decided I should ask for $2,000 off MSRP (this is a fairly new model with no rebates). I found a dealer in North Carolina with the color the wife wanted, for the price I needed, made a deal and went

I didn’t find Eric’s tone negative at all. He seems very supportive of what this judge is attempting.

Interestingly, that diesel appears to carry a $2-3K premium in the used market.  It’s actually priced really well!  NP.

You have to admit, the gas mileage is borderline criminal.

Thanks for the great article.  You’re right, people generally overbuy when all they need is an Elantra sized sedan.

Doesn’t check out. Poor people will show up for their shit jobs because they have no choice. They already spent the stimulus money on big screen TVs and new wheels for the Kia.

These “racist white people” were there to keep the peace so there would be no looting or rioting, and it worked!

Thanks for posting the ‘67 T-bird!  My first car purchased when I was 15 years old.  My Mom had to drive it home for me.

It’s great Ford is focusing their attention on improvements we can all aspire too.

I think you’ve got a good plan, except for 2 things I would do differently: get rid of the $500 Commanche, it’s a rusty piece of shit, and keep the 1991 Cherokee.  Good luck on your new plan!

I had to CP it. Found plenty of examples with less miles out there for the same price. Of course there’s also the lien issue, which isn’t necessarily a big issue but if you don’t have to deal with it why would you?  Nice car, though.

The only mod I did to my ‘79 was a fuel injection to carb conversion.  Wasn’t that bad, and the Edelbrock components I used are pretty reliable.

I would much rather have yesterday’s Seville at half the price.  Not as much fun to drive, but way cheaper to fix.

Owned a ‘79 for six years. Great cars. Underpowered, but comfortable and really rode like the bigger Cadillacs, but with more body control. This one’s a little ratty but NP for nostalgia.

It was the same when we lived in Northwest Wisconsin: like living on another planet.  As for Golden Corral, good riddance.

You must have been down here in Florida.  Hope you enjoyed the visit.

My Mom had one of these.  Rode like shit.

Not interested in buying someone else’s “testbed.”   CP.

It’s cool, just not $18,000 cool.  CP.

This conversation is giving me an Erie feeling...
