I really wanted to believe this woman, but then I read the part about the fake Facebook users, and now I TOTALLY believe her story.

If she was hiking slowly, she would have been passed by other hikers. If she was doing 30 miles a day in a normal 10 hour day she would have passed other hikers. If she was slowly hiking 30 miles a day she would have yo-yo’d between being passed and passing others. There is no scenario where she would have been able…

Claiming you’re remaining silent because you are too dignified to respond but also promoting your story to the local news and writing a book is fairly incongruous.
