I was staying home at age nine. But I was not having to watch a 3 year old. That’s a bit much. Especially at a motel where strangers come and go regularly. I feel bad for her situation, though. That’s a really tough spot to be in. Glad the kids are safe and she is getting some help. Best to her.

You are spot on with your comments. But listing facts and discussing in a logical manner will get you nowhere here. People make up their minds with emotion. If people would learn the facts I suspect their opinions would change. The phrase ‘tax cut’ has become a scarlet letter if you are not ‘working class.’

They could compromise. Offer “Official” cosplay titles (licensed) to top of the line cosplayers. It would be akin to “the official beer of the NFL.”
I think companies have to do a cost benefit analysis. If they think cosplayer A provides enough advertising / exposure... the company may turn a blind eye. If the company does not feel they benefit, whilst cosplayer A is pulling in six figures (U$), then I suspect they may try to get a cut.
