I was a TA in grad school for an undergrad engineering lab. I used this exact example when students complained about my taking off so many points for incorrect units.

Yep. Grammar/vocabulary police are jumping down the authors throat... but THEY are in the wrong. Oh well.

We (society) cannot expect social media apps/sites to police every single category of content (porn, hate speech, politically motivated content from foreign nationals, copyrighted material, etc. etc). It’s impossible. But we shout and shout and shout and insist they do, then complain that they aren’t doing an

What are “coffee grains?”

Thank you!  Excellent info and summary.  A rare gem in the comments section.

I can assure you that both sides are responsible for this. You have right-wing religious nuts who won’t vaccinate because... God. And you have left-wing nuts that won’t vaccinate because mother nature, or holistic medical magic, or something. You can claim ‘the other side is worse,’ but that doesn’t excuse the

What would YOU propose? Many (most?) of the individuals are not vaccinated by choice. Do you want the government to force vaccinations? Good luck with that. I suspect the (liberal) ACLU would have a thing or two to say about that idea.

Nice try. Ranting doesn’t change the facts: this has been a big nothing burger. Dems are scrambling to pull something, anything from the ashes of the ‘scandal’ they tried their best to prop up. But nope, nothing.   Move on.

Agreed. If anything, Harris displayed her lack of understanding on how the system works. She looked surprised at times that her ‘bombshell’ questions were casually answered (correctly) and without event. What a waste of time.

Let’s not lump all men into the same category as this POS.

This made me sick.  Absolutely sick.  I cannot wrap my head around how this is even possible.

“Google also says 11.6 years”

I agree with all except the B average. Grades SHOULD be scaled such that C is average. And C, by definition, is acceptable for an undergrad degree. Grade inflation is an epidemic.  But that is another argument.

The way the data is presented is interesting. The + / - std dev is misleading. It just tells, us for example, women are less likely to BS than men. But they still BS. It also doesn’t give us what percentage of time these people BS. Hell, they may be BSing 95% of the time, with women at a bit less and men a bit more.

It sounds like you have been surrounded by some pretty shitty men.  Sorry the hear that.

Those women should stop caring what others think/say and do what is right for them and their families.

STEM is a HUGE conglomeration of fields and concentrations. To say “I am in STEM” is like saying “the northern hemisphere” when asked where you live.

Except in recent years our political system has been the antithesis of Hotelling’s Law. Rather than a rush to the middle, we are witnessing a rush to the extrema.
