@Jester21: You know how in bad sci fi movies, you usually laugh at the ridiculous names that planets are given? yeah. This is bad sci fi karma, coming back to bite you for laughing at that.

I honestly have no idea what this means: "From the same report, Willis said he doesn't want to put M. Night Shyamalan on the spot, but he feels a lot of people would like to the sequel to the original, and that he is definitely one of them."

@Trevize: can skinny Jesus come though? He's been working out with buff Jesus.

@Mark 2000: and a MORAL CHOICE, followed by a heroic sacrifice. Damn! I think we got this movie in the can.

@Alessar: and "Airplane!" for that matter

@bloknayrb: bottom line here: physicists are wacky.

@Mr_Academic: Well, perhaps the assumption is that the rest of the atmosphere is filled with the other Earth-atmosphere gasses? I don't know. I guess that depends on whether we're able to detect what ancient mars' atmosphere contained outside of CO2.

@Tzepish: right. In earth terms, Mars is currently at .005% CO2. Back then, it was closer to the .39% number. Big, BIG change. And more evidence that Mars represents the reverse outcome of Venus.

@The_Sporean_Bob: pareidolia that was PUT IN YOUR BRAIN BY MARTIANS!

@Jeff Wooten: Well, it's not that the gas would float away like on the moon. It's that there's not enough carbon dioxide left there to even do it, really.

@PlaidNinja: To be fair, Cobra comes pre-supplied with its own rogues gallery.

@Lauren Shaw: Titan nuggets! I like it. Bring the endangered alien cuisine to the people!

@zelannii: It's a conspiracy...of color! Beautiful color!

@Lauren Shaw: no no no, the title is misleading. They're using the findings on Titan as a comparison to help understand how life came to be on Earth. They're not suggesting that that life came from elsewhere.

Re: #1 pretty cool, but if there's one thing the Bad Astronomy blog's collection of Casini images of Saturn has shown me, it's that Saturn doesn't really have a completely dark night side. The light from the day side is diffused over the whole atmosphere, going to very dim twilght but not total darkness.

@99TelepodProblems: And they've got Cinematic Titanic to remind you of that! ...granted it takes them ages to update

@Hotscot: Bottom line - at its very worst, MST3K had merely chosen a movie so bad or boring that it was impossible to make fun of. Very, very few bad movies turn out like that; most of them can be heckled without problem, so these were rare occasions.

@NextPlease: Rifftrax actively promotes fan riffs, so it's not that pointless.
