Dude, we’ve had this conversation before. Check Torch’s article from this summer I think where he basically said that if you bought a small crossver vs a hatch (I think it was an Escape vs Focus or something) you were an idiot. Plenty of people gave plenty of reasons why things like ease of entry/egress were

Same here - I assumed that this was some sort of secretly recorded conversation between him and some legal counsel, discussing some loopholes to get around any antitrust stuff thrown at them.

Instead, what we have here is a CEO telling his employees in a town hall Q&A session that they plan on fighting to keep the

I mean... they make a really good, world-leading product. They are the standard all other EVs are compared to.

Like the others so far... CP but man that’s a fantastic car that has another decade+ of life in it. It definitely needs to stick with the R wheels, though.

To be fair to them, if they’re staying at a different hotel every few days for 20+ days a month, I’m sure it’s brutal. Living out of a suitcase for a living is it’s own sort of battle.

Literally the first thing I noticed. I figured either he was REALLY short like you say he is, or the floorboard/seat is literally two inches off the ground.  He makes that car look mammoth.

I wonder this too. If you’re going to swap out the parts that were factory upgraded on a higher trim, then... why buy the higher trim to start with?

Unless the trim has some upgraded aesthetic bits and you want it to be known as such (badges, logos on seats, different body panels/bumpers, etc), it doesn’t make sense.

What is so “funny” about that? Are you forgetting that a contemporary Camry made between 130 and 190 horsepower, while modern Camrys make between 200 and 300?

So relative to the most “average” car, the Type-R made more power than the highest trim, while the Toyobaru makes less than the lowest trim.

That does sound like a fantastic driving experience! And that’s exactly why I have RWD coupe with around one pony per ten lbs, 6/4 14in brakes, a built transmission, 275 tires, and KW coilovers among many other things.

But for a 40 minute highway commute every day, I’ll take the 35+mpg that comes with great driving

Because I don’t have a spare minute in my day to suitably pull out a Switch until kids are in bed at 8:30. Portability is great, but if you don’t have the time and place it doesn’t really matter.

It sounds broken to me. Like there’s a rock stuck on the brake pad, or the dust shield is bent in on the rotor and making slight contact.

0/10, would always keep windows up.

I like to play games like this free, without an up front cost OR in-app purchases.  So I’m fine with them existing.  Given the option between say a $20 full-featured MK on my phone or this limited version for $0, I’ll take the free one every time.  It’s a timewaster and it is just fine for that.  If I need a real MK

most just-goddamn-sensible cars

You’re absolutely right, there’s really no reason to bash someone for how they want to dress. It was mean-spirited and if I met the guy in real life, there’s no way I’d say it to him. Also, he’d probably laugh at me for looking lame in my button down shirt, jeans, and boat shoes.

The car is awesome. The article was awesome. The pictures were awesome. And the owner looked a little ridiculous to me.

Why can’t all of those things be true?

No argument there IF by “track time” you mean time attack. I’m more talking about the weekend warrior doing HPDEs/AutoX/canyon runs.

He just seems to be projecting that he’s cool because he’s different enough for you to notice he’s different, but not so different that you think he’s doing it on purpose. You know, it’s natural and he doesn’t care what you think even though he secretly dresses like this specifically because he does care what you think

Agreed, it doesn’t make a lick of sense. This car screams hardcore track toy... and yet it is missing one of the key ingredients for the intended application.

OK glad it just wasn’t me. I’m objectively NOT hip and am absolutely a basic business casual midwest dad in his early 30's, but I couldn’t get over how tryhard that picture looked. Is that how people in their mid-late 20's dress now days? Or just a big city thing?

All of those pictures, and not one of the most important part.  Show me where I’ll be pooping.
