It’s not that they’re not taking advantage of an education. It’s that they’re not allowed to get an education. I tutored at a D1 school for a few years. They had an option of 3-4 majors to choose from, because those were the only ones that could fit their schedule. And make no mistake about it, they absolutely do play

I just want to say that I’m tickled that a veteran uses “GodDamnTheseElectricSexPants” as their handle. Are those military-issued electric sex pants?

Later he turned into a tree.

Yeah, I never heard about that because I was out of upstate NY by the time it got to that, but I’m not surprised. The sort of dude that starts off his commercials with shouting and rage is probably a show pony and doesn’t engage in much heavy lifting. Goddamned if his commercials weren’t entertaining as shit, though.

Good on you, Totilo.

Much as we must accept certain things in our entertainment that are less than ideal, we must also—sometimes—accept situations in the geopolitical arena that are less than ideal for the maintenance of baseline peace (and military/business relationships).

That’s also the reason conservative whites flock the the likes of Carson, Cosby, etc. They think these sorts of people are subversives who speak the real truth about “the blacks” and give legitimacy to their racism.

I still remember watching this as the episode aired and GASPING and then laughing (i am a trash human) because the things that needed to happen for that to happen perfectly like that amuse me on a universal scale.

KINJAA!

You are in my thoughts. It’s not often, but dealing with misogyny toward my spouse drives me insane. I cannot imagine dealing with it from the public at large.

My wife is a principal and she is one of the kindest, bighearted people you will ever see with children. Until you try and mess with those same children; then she becomes very assertive about where you need to remove your head from. She’s consistently raised scores for the kids in her school and parents love her,

And because John Kelly was either oblivious, extremely sensitive, or simply didn’t care about the people (mostly Muslims) whom his agency was effectively locking out of the country—or some combination of all three—his takeaway was that Elizabeth Warren is a little mean.”

I really don’t understand how evil can be so politically successful while being so fucking stupid.

No. I remember them, too. I remember asking my parents if I could sell Grit after seeing what must have been a pretty effective recruiting ad in Boy’s Life. They said no. They were right.

How many coaches like that have you known?

Am I the only one here old enough to remember ‘Grit’, with the subhead “America’s Greatest Family Newspaper”?  And the ads in comic books that promised that you could make a bundle being a Grit delivery boy?

They’re the Bills of the NFL.
