I had to sit through a senior local government official yelling at the clouds about kids and their cell phones being responsible for the downfall of society yesterday. So, yeah, someone with a clue and not a flip phone would be nice.

Our state had a ballot measure about raising judicial retirement ages recently. Every lawyer I know was against it, even though we have some good local judges, because that state law is the only reason there’s any turnover at all. Batons don’t pass.

That team started Tom Savage. Intentionally. More than once.

I wish the colleges I had been/worked at to did more with Greek life to try to curb the worst impulses. They’d step in when someone was seriously injured, but otherwise, the Coordinator of Greek Life was some alum, typically a perky sorority type or gymbro from the preppy frat (fyi, I’m old enough that my life would

My parents are from the blue collar, take-anything-authority-offers school of working poor and it hurts to think of all the crap they’ve taken over the years because they’ve always been too afraid of losing a job to take a stand.

I worked at a couple d3 schools for many years after being a mediocre high school and college athlete. I could field a team in any sport from the people I’ve seen quit over the years, for good reasons and bad, in mid-practice and occasionally mid-game.

Guy I know--runner, church lector, super dad--recently had a serious cancer diagnosis. It’s been a shockwave in our little community of people looking at him, looking back at their lives, and changing jobs/retiring early/etc.

This has been life with my Trumpy MIL for years.

I almost picked up Froot Loops with Marshmallows over my lunch break shopping trip and had the exact same thought.

Right after this, I had lunch with my in-laws and they were foaming at the mouth about biased Chuck Todd and liberal conspiracies.

It’s almost like it’s an intentionally obtuse question to cover some basic etiquette people might not otherwise consider...

For the game checks, I’m sure. But signing bonus and retirement clauses and whatnot seem to indicate he’s still getting serious guaranteed money.

Seriously, I was “what a dick move” until Footbaw! Men! started in on the disrespecting the brothers in the trenches-type stuff. Now my office is wondering why I’m giving a slow clap at my desk.

I think I found a limit to how much I’m willing to suffer for celeb memoirs.

This post ought to be part of a follow up article.

Probably all of those reasons, to some extent, plus 32 more that I’d waste a day writing about if I had a chance.

I get where you’re going, but I don’t think Wrangler spent more than $25 on Favre’s ads.

You make far too much sense on this proposal to ever be an NFLPA negotiator.

Living in the midst of Steelers’ country, I’m quietly enjoying this whole saga. The righteous anger of people who would call the cops on Bell if he stopped to ask for directions about how he isn’t loyal to them is priceless.

Much like the myth of The Trewps, we don’t want to look at teachers as people but as a mythical homogeneous class of educated and erudite people who care for the children deeply, but not in a creepy way.
